The “pop-up” windows that appear when you visit some websites are unpleasant at best and potentially malicious at worst.
Pop-up windows are automatically disabled in most modern web browsers like Google Chrome. However, pop-ups can be useful in certain circumstances; for instance, Amazon’s live chat feature is a result of a pop-up.
In the desktop version of Google Chrome or the mobile app, you can allow pop-ups for select sites or all sites. The methodology is as follows.
Desktop Google Chrome: How To Enable Pop-Ups
Here’s what you can do if you want to enable pop-ups, but only on the sites you actually visit.

Step 1: Launch Chrome and go to the website whose pop-ups you want to enable.
Step 2: To make sure your connection is secure
Step 3: Select Pop-ups and redirects from the pop-up menu’s drop-down, and then select Allow from the block menu. Site Settings > Pop-ups and redirection is another option for this.
Don’t block any pop-ups:

- fire up your computer’s copy of Google Chrome.
- Click Chrome in the top menu bar, then click Preferences… in the submenu that appears.
- The Chrome preferences menu will appear in a new tab. Select Security and Privacy from the menu on the left.
- Navigate to the Site Settings tab located in the Privacy and Security section.
- Select Pop-ups and redirects from the Content drop-down menu.
