The releases of Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare II were wildly successful. Of course, a massive new Battle Royale map was also released with Warzone 2.0. This was essential after Caldera. But until then, we’ve already thoroughly investigated Al Mazrah, and we’re wondering when we can anticipate a new map or at the very least some map improvements.

New Warzone 2.0 BR Map: Al Mazrah
We’ve been waiting for a smaller map in the vein of Rebirth Island or Fortune’s Keep ever since the large Battle Royale map Al Mazrah went live with the release of Warzone 2.0 on November 16. We received the confirmation at last.
Al Mazrah is still the Battle Royale map for Warzone 2.0, and it won’t change any time soon. We should anticipate playing on Al Mazrah for at least a little bit because Verdansk in Warzone 1 was also only replaced with a new BR map after a full year.

We have known for some time that a smaller revival map for Warzone 2.0 is being created thanks to our favourite leaker Tom Henderson.

The community has long questioned when we’d receive a map like Rebirth Island or Fortune’s Keep for Warzone 2.0 because they were both hugely popular in Warzone 1.
Apart from the release date, we don’t currently have any official information on the new map, but there have been some leaks. Even an image of the map is one of them:
- Warzone 2.0: Resurgence Map Confirmed For Season 2
Although we are unable to authenticate it, the photograph appears to be real. Additionally, we have already seen several Season 2 leaks revealing the return of the multiplayer map Castle from World at War. Castle might also be used as a Ground War map for Modern Warfare 2 because it appears as a POI on the Resurgence Map. Because of this, the Battle Royale map Al Mazrah, whose POIs are available as Ground War maps in Modern Warfare 2, was also constructed in a similar manner.
All that is currently known is that Season 2 will include a scaled-down version of the Resurgence map, similar to Rebirth Island or Fortune’s Keep. As soon as more information becomes available, we will, of course, update this post.
